Ana Isabel Rodriguez


Ana studied Biotechnology at the University Pablo de Olavide, Seville. As an undergraduate student, she joined the Genetics department at the Andalusian Centre for Developmental Biology and did an internship at the King’s College London.

During her university years, Ana also worked as Function Director and Business Opportunities Manager in a bioinformatics start-up, HEBRA, focused on developing tools for researchers. Thanks to this entrepreneurship experience, she started to get interested in learning how to turn an innovative idea into an actual business.

Ana is now doing a Ph.D. at the University of Edinburgh, where she also got involved in some public engagement projects to improve her communications skills. Recently, she joined the Society of Spanish Researchers in the UK as Secretary of the Scotland Constituency, where she gained some experience on events organization and business development.
